A thermal cut out switches off the cleaner to prevent over heating if it is used when full or there is a blockage or dirty filters. It will take approximatly 30 minutes for the cut out to automatically reset. If the cut out has operated check filters; and for blockages.
Remove fuse from moulded plug and replace with a 13 amp fuse.
Check socket you are using with another electrical product.
Check that the brushes are rotating when the cleaner is running. Do not touch the brushes if they are rotating. If they are not turning refer to changing brushes.
Remove the hose from foot and check for suction at the pipe. If no suction refer to Clearing a blockage.
Check exhaust and dust bin filters.
Check that the height selector is set to the appropriate setting for the carpet.
The motor has a thermal cut out which protects the motor if it overheats. This will reset after approximatly 30 minutes. Check filters, hose and empty bin prior to it reseting.
Check hose for blockages and entrance from chasis with machine turned off.
Check exhaust and pre motor filters and clean if necessary. See cleaning filters.
Turn the cleaner over and remove 6 retaining screws holding brush guard to base (1). Remove the brush guard (2). Remove brush assembly and check for wear on the belt. Loop the new belt around the motor and brush channel (3). Hold the Brush assembly and stretch the belt until the brush can be slotted back into the cleaner housing (4). Rotate the brush to ensure movement of the belt (5). Refit the brush with 6 retaining screws (6).
Ensure that the hoses are connected properly and the dust bin is connected properly
Check the collection bin for loose debris and empty if necessary.
Unplug the product and check around the brushes for any carpet fibre or other objects rattling around the base.
Blocked filters or a nearly full dust bin may cause the motor noise to increase. Check and clean the filters. (see filter cleaning)
If cleaning tools were in use check the cleaning tool and the removable handle (1). Check the hose by removing it from the cleaner and stretching it to full length. (2). Turn the cleaner over and rotate the brushes until they are free to rotate (3). Check for a blockage in the hose socket. Using a flexible rod to remove any obstruction. (4). Open the pet hair and allergen remover at each side. Lift cover and remove any blockage. (5).
The Carpet care selector raises and lowers the foot. For a medium pile carpet the best carpet cleaning is achieved by setting the selector to the INTENSIVE CLEAN position. For all other types of carpet try various settings until you get the best result for your carpet. Ensure that the cleaner is in an upright (parked) position. Rotate knob to position best suited to depth of carpet pile. NOTE: Using the cleaner for carpets with pile greater than 30mm is not recommended.
The exhaust filter should be washed every month. Press down on the latch to remove the exhaust cover. Remove filter and wash with warm water. Remove excess water by shaking and leave to dry refit filter.
Rotate the upper part of the dust bin to open (1). Remove the filter assembly from the upper part (2). Remove the mesh filter from the filter assembly (3)Gently tap both filters to release any excess dust (4)Wash both filters under hand warm water until the water runs clear. Remove excess water by shaking and leave to dry for 24 hours. When completely dry reassemble and refit filters to cleaner (5).
